Chief had it!  Type, attitude, movement and points from the puppy classes at a time when those were hard to come by.   What more could we want?  To be "within" the height guidelines as requested in the Standard by the time he reached "open".  Showing a dog that doesn't fall "within" the guidelines as outlined in the Standard, either over or under,  was, and still is, something that we don't do.  So, Chief retired to be a couch warmer and best friend.
